TO FUTURE GHOSTS

Installation comprised of paper bricks dyed with indigo, lac, buckthorn, pomegranate, iron, citric acid, walnut ink, and cochineal, screenprinting ink on paper and sheer fabric, paint

This installation responds to the small turret of the NIU Art Museum in addition to the two actual windows three false ones are added and they are all “bricked in” with paper bricks. The bricks themselves are screenprinted with repeating imagery of fraying ropes, architectural spires and shadows turned to repeating patterns reference the solidness of architecture and the ever changing nature of shadows. Layered over these encircling windows, sheer fabric shows patterns of dust, around the negative space of working hands.
